The distribution of T-SHIRTS to the male and female employees of the Municipal Solid Waste Management staff who are engaged in special duties during the Kandy Esala Perahera season, was held today, 26th August 2026, at the Mayor's Official Chamber under the sponsorship of Watawala Tea. The consignment of T-SHIRTS was officially handed over to Mr. Chandrasiri Wijayanayaka, Mayor of Kandy, by Mrs. Nadee Manatunga, Senior Brand Manager of Sunshine Consumer Pvt Ltd. Mrs. Indika Kumari Abeysinghe, Municipal Commissioner of Kandy, Mr. Namal Dhammika Dissanayake, Municipal Mechanical Engineer and Head of the Solid Waste Section, Mr. Chandana Abeyrathna, Sanitation Superintendent, along with a group of staff members from the department, were also present at the event.
